As generative AI tools become widespread—ChatGPT reached 200 million users by April 2023—entrepreneurship is undergoing a structural shift. SIDE ST and ROSA Futures partnered to investigate how these technologies redefine innovation, creativity, and business-building.
The study combined desk research, expert interviews, and speculative analysis to map current uses of AI in entrepreneurship and to anticipate emerging archetypes of AI-augmented founders.
The research identifies three key transformations:
Enhanced Research & Insights: AI streamlines data collection, deciphers unstructured information, and supports hyper-personalization.
Democratization of Entrepreneurship: Low-barrier tools enable anyone to launch and test ideas.
Entrepreneurs as Curators: Human taste and intuition remain vital in shaping AI-generated outputs.
However, the study also highlights significant concerns: AI could exacerbate existing entrepreneurial biases, lead to more homogenized outputs, raise questions about accountability in AI-driven decisions, and pose risks of job displacement and systemic inequality.
The report advocates for continuous experimentation with AI, and for cultivating emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills within what it terms the “feeling economy.” Entrepreneurs must learn not only to work with AI but also to retain their distinctiveness and ethical compass.
