Over two days, students explored the fundamentals of futures thinking, learning to identify weak signals, articulate macro-trends, and build systemic foresight grounded in the complexity of today’s world. Through collaborative workshops, they co-created four distinct future scenarios for fashion in 2035—spanning environmental transformations, technological disruptions, shifting consumer values, and geopolitical tensions.
Each team assessed the strategic implications of their scenario across the entire fashion value chain—from design and sourcing to logistics, marketing, and distribution. Beyond theoretical projections, this approach enabled students to connect anticipation with action.
These resulting future narratives offer brands essential tools to question current assumptions and strategically plan for a range of potential futures.
In May, students will engage in a design fiction module, turning future scenarios into tangible artifacts. This practical exercise is designed to provoke dialogue and contemplation about the fashion industry's futures.
